May 13, 2021 – dtac has joined forces with the Ministry of Public Health and the National Broadcasting & Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to bolster high-speed internet with mobile base stations and free Wi-Fi with dtac@Home at the Bussarakham 1-5 Field Hospital. This emergency COVID-19 patient care covers over 100,000 sqm. space in the IMPACT Challenger Hall in Muang Thong Thani, Greater Bangkok.
The Ministry of Public Health has transformed the Bussarakham 1-5 Halls of the IMPACT Challenger Hall into a field hospital to cater to “yellow group” COVID-19 patients – those with mild symptoms and without shortness of breath. This field hospital is set up to reduce the burden of government and private hospitals in Greater Bangkok, allowing for increased capacity to admit “red group” patients – those with severe conditions. The field hospital also includes a section for “red group” patients requiring special care with negative-pressure tents, respirators, and other equipment.
Mr. Lertratana Ratananukul, Head of Government Relations of Total Access Communication PLC or dtac, inspected the preparations at the Bussarakham 1-5 Field Hospital within the IMPACT Challenger Hall in Muang Thong Thani. He demonstrated the system readiness of the dtac mobile network, high-speed internet, and the free Wi-Fi service using dtac@Home set boxes to Mr. Trairat Wiriyasirikul, Acting Secretary of NBTC, and Dr. Anan Kanoksilp, Director of ICT center, Office of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health. dtac offered the dtac@Home set box system to support the work of doctors, nurses, officials, and other personnel working hard to treat and contain the COVID-19 pandemic, which is also accessible to the patients in care.
