Telenor Asia Study Reveals 5 Key Trends for Continued Surge in Time Spent on Mobile Devices

Surge in digital adoption shows no sign of slowing down: Three in four expect usage to increase, with Thai respondents leading this trend. Gen Z and Millennials fear they are overusing technology and lack the skills to keep pace with digital acceleration. Nearly all (93%) have major concerns about privacy and security, but Thailand has lowest level of concern at 75%. Three in four are optimistic about the potential for mobile connectivity to help them to lead more sustainable lives. Such offers are scams not originating from dtac official social media accounts. How to distinguish between dtac official social media accounts and fake ones: If you get a message via Messenger from someone claiming to be from a dtac Facebook account: dtac's official Facebook page has more than 4 million followers. In the chat box, behind the word dtac, there must be an icon of the correct symbol surrounded by a blue circle. dtac do not allow employees to use their personal Facebook account to contact any customer under any circumstances. If you get a message via Line from someone claiming to be from a dtac Line account: dtac official Line account will show a green or blue shield symbol denoting a verified official account. dtac notifies the Stock Exchange of Thailand after convening the Board of Directors Meeting to consider the extension of period for holding the Joint Shareholders Meeting regarding the amalgamation

26 August 2022 – Total Access Communication PCL or dtac has submitted a notification letter to the Stock Exchange of Thailand after the Board of Directors Meeting today. The Board of Directors approved holding an interim Joint Shareholders Meeting No. 1 on 3 October 2022 in order for the shareholders of dtac and True to consider extending the period for considering matters concerning the amalgamation at a subsequent Joint Shareholders Meeting. Based on relevant NBTC notifications, NBTC guideline on mergers and past practices of the NBTC considering merger transactions, the NBTC was expected to issue its final report on the proposed amalgamation within 90 days from the date of submission of the amalgamation report. However, the NBTC is currently still considering the amalgamation. As a consequence, dtac and True may not be able to convene the Joint Shareholders Meeting within 6 months from the date on which the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders No.1/2022 of dtac and the 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders of True approved the Amalgamation. The pivotal partnership will primarily run across 24 villages from 7 groups of ethnic minority backgrounds, aimed at raising their income by 50%   Aug 18, 2022 - Social Development and Human Security Ministry and dtac today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), forming a partnership to empower the indigenous peoples through digital and entrepreneurial training, with the aim to increase economic well-being and promote sustainable tourism. The pivotal partnership will primarily focus on 24 villages covering seven ethnic minority groups with outstanding products and will expand to cover 20 groups of indigenous peoples in three years. According to data from the United Nations, 47% of all indigenous peoples globally in employment have no education, compared to 17% of their non-indigenous counterparts. This gap is even wider for women. In addition, more than 86% of indigenous peoples globally work in the informal economy, compared to 66% for their non-indigenous counterparts. Indigenous peoples are nearly three times as likely to be living in extreme poverty compared to their non-indigenous counterparts.
