dtac and NBTC send their support to flood victims of Tropical Storm Noru, extending payment periods for dtac customers

30 September 2022 - During the heavy rains and floods from Tropical Storm Noru in the northeast and north of Thailand, dtac and NBTC have expressed their concern to the victims and have ensured that communication services remain available in order to contact relatives and receive updates on developing news. dtac has also offered postpaid customers in affected areas an extension of their payment due dates by five days. Prepaid customers will receive an additional five days of availability from September 30 to October 4, 2022, and dtac will send an SMS directly to applicable customers’ mobile phones. Prepaid and postpaid customers in Angthong, Chaiyaphum, Loei, Ayutthaya, Prachinburi, Sukhothai, and Tak are eligible for these benefits and can contact the dtac call center 1678 for more information. dtac has also organized teams to monitor service signals in the flooded areas in order to maintain cell sites. dtac Expedites Network Teams to Deploy Contingency Plans in Flood-Prone Provinces, Warning SMS Sent to Millions of Mobile Users at Risk of Floods

September 28, 2022 – dtac expedites its network teams to provinces at risk of widespread flooding due to incoming storms to ensure uninterrupted telecommunications through our contingency operation plans. These operations involve the mobilization of mobile base stations, power generators, and fuel in areas that may lose power from the impact of flooding and storms. In addition, we have prepared 4x4 vehicles and paddle boats to ensure logistics operations to and from impacted base stations when required. dtac is also working closely with the Department of Meteorology and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to send alerts via its network. So far, dtac has helped send over 2 million text messages warning of possible flooding in 14 high-risk provinces where there are possible threats to the public and their assets. 20 September 2022 - Amidst the increasing call center and SMS scams, consumers are avoiding taking calls from unfamiliar numbers. Technicians are on the ground across the flood-prone areas to keep customers connected.
