dtac goes beyond basic connectivity with EV scooter platform

Telenor to expand its 5G piloting in Norway

February 6, 2019 - Telenor Group today announced details of its expanded 5G piloting in Norway. The next generation pilot will be carried out by Telenor Norway in partnership with Ericsson and will complement the mobile operator's existing 5G pilot in Kongsberg. “It's important for Telenor to continuously expand our knowledge and experience through actively testing the 5G technology together with suppliers. Through experimenting we also assess the 5G technological requirements as well as how we and Telenor's customers can take advantage of the vast opportunities the 5G technology brings. Together with Ericsson we will experiment with ways to design the 5G network, understand the vendor capabilities and use of the technology, and test new use cases," says Ruza Sabanovic, Chief Technology Officer for Telenor Group. dtac to collaborate with Chulalongkorn University in 5G testing to identify sustainable use cases

February 4, 2019 – dtac presented the 5G use cases it will test and prototype at the 5G IoT & AI Innovation Center in collaboration with The Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and Chulalongkorn University. The goal is to study the characteristics and features of 5G services and to test prototypes on specific use cases. dtac House welcomes children who can’t go to school due to pollution

31 January 2019 - dtac House is organizing special activities to welcome employees’ children affected by the two-day closure of schools in the Bangkok metropolitan area. Due to concerns over toxic levels of PM2.5 particles in the air, dtac is supporting parents taking their children to dtac House’s child-friendly playroom with extra activities such as coloring, Play-doh, and Lego. dtac also opened its 38th floor to children, where they can play futsal, ping pong and snooker. dtac launches Thailand’s first electric vehicle connectivity platform to help reduce air pollution

dtac has built a good foundation for growth

28 January 2019 – dtac was completely out of concession regime when the remedy period ended on 16 December 2018. With the partnership with TOT on 2300MHz wireless service, the acquisition of 1800MHz and 900MHz spectrums from the auctions in 2018, and the existing 2100MHz spectrum, dtac has a strong and competitive spectrum portfolio, with the largest downlink bandwidth in the market. The lease agreements with CAT provide long-term access to towers and other network infrastructure. Moreover, high level of network investment to expand 2100MHz and 2300MHz networks helped to strengthen network coverage and capacity, and improve customer’s experience. This reduces business uncertainty and provides a good foundation for dtac to return to growth in 2019. Furthermore, dtac’s legal risk pertaining to the concession agreement greatly reduces from the disputes settlement agreement, which is subject to an approval from the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, to be held on 4 April 2019. dtac and CAT sign dispute settlement agreement

January 10, 2019 - Total Access Communication PLC or dtac, and CAT Telecom Public Company Limited or CAT, today announced an agreement to settle most of the existing disputes and all potential claims relating to the concession agreement for a total amount of 9.51 billion baht. The Disputes Settlement Agreement between dtac and CAT marks an important milestone in the long standing relationship between the two entities. This now enables a fresh start of a new infrastructure partnership. This will also significantly reduce current uncertainty relating to arbitration awards and court verdicts. The agreement does not cover the dispute over the revenue sharing with regards to excise tax and the disputes over the revenue sharing with regards to interconnection charges.
